Desktop icons all working "together"!

Help! Suddenly ALL of my desktop icons are working "in union!" If I open one, they ALL open! If I drag one to another spot, they ALL move! Yikes, what have I done??? Thanks for your help!

It seems like you have them all selected. Click any where in the middle of the desktop, then click on one icon and open it.

Thank you ... shortly after I wrote it seemed to right itself. Can't imagine how I "selected them all," but - hey - with me, anything could happen! ) I appreciate your response.

That is what I find causes most of these weird problems...
