Desktop icons moving after reboot?

Is there a way to give the desktop icons memory so they stay put after I reboot?

Close all your Finder windows (or just click on an open patch of Desktop), then View > Show View Options...check on Keep Arranged By...and select a criteria that will work the best for you. That should keep them in order on reboot.

The Desktility program will remember the position of icons on the desktop for you, whether they're sorted or on the grid or not.
