Desktop icons

I like the neat look tbh. On my desktop i have 3 icons.

1. Mac HD
2. Windows
3. and an external

I'd like to keep the Mac and the external for easy access. Is there a way to hide the windows icon?

I've heard someone did it with a script.
But in the standard show/ hide its all or none.

Rename your Windows volume from within Windows putting a period in front. For instance, .Windows. This doesn't hurt Windows, but it will no longer show up on your desktop within Os X (hidden file). It's still accessible on the left bar of any Finder window.
