I ran the most recent security update for Ventura and I just noticed that my wallpaper is not being scaled correctly. Images are supposed to adjust to fit automatically and now they are being clipped off. Also, when waking the machine I frequently get the Ventura color block wallpaper instead of my selected images.

It is possible that this was going on prior to the update and I just missed it, but I don't think so. Has anyone else run into this? System Settings used to include a scale to fit option but I no longer see that; maybe they hid it.

Im not seeing this exactly, but, if i Log Out (rather than lock or restart) i get the default ventura wallpaper for about half a second before it loads the correct one i have set myself.

Log in screen after reboot or power off and the lock screen work correctly. Its only if i Log Off without a reboot

I'm seeing the Ventura wallpaper when waking from sleep, inconsistently. Usually it is then replaced by my desktop images.

I would expect the Ventura wallpaper on the login screen.

I did find how to rescale my images; you have to select one of your wallpaper images and you are then offered options on how the image is presented. Stretch to fit is one of them and solved the problem. Once selected it applies to all the images, which is a good thing as I have over a thousand wallpaper images. Once understood this arrangement is OK but it is nowhere as obvious as previous versions of MacOS where the options on how to handle wallpaper images were on the top level desktop/screensaver section of System Preferences.

Today after a reboot i saw the ventura default wallpaper on my login screen . I rebooted again and it went back to my chosen one. Weird

I think that 13.5.2 might be introducing some under the hood changes to "prep" peoples machines for the substantial screensaver and wallpaper changes that will be introduced in Sonoma (maybe moving files around etc)

The desktop wallpaper settings continue to change by themselves, mostly reverting to the Ventura wallpaper and removing the selections for time to display and stretch to fit. Sometimes it just changes the settings for stretch to fit and time to display, but keeping my images. I have three Apple Silicon Ventura machines and all of them are doing it. It is becoming more than annoying. It sure seems like a weird bug to show up after that last security update.
