These files titled "Desktop 1", "Desktop 2", etc... keep downloading every half hour. They are saved into my Users folder. I dont know why or how I got them...does anyone know how to stop them?

Do you mean "appearing" rather than "downloading"? IF not, how do yoiu know they are downloading? What browser is downloading them? Is it exactly every 30 minutes, or roughly? Have you looked in one? Opened one with text edit? I wonder if its a log file from something you have running?

What browser, what Mac OS X version and what Mac do you have?

Also by meaning downloading, do you mean one of the internet services?

Or does it also happen when you're disconnected from the internet?

What size are those "Desktop1..." files and what suffix/file extension do they have?

Also, have you enabled Show Hidden Files via Terminal or some other program like Onyx?

Does MRoogle bring some results?

This came up doing a Google search.
