I've encountered this problem 3 times so far and I'm wondering how to fix it. It goes as follows.

My spaces are:
1. iTunes, Finder, System Preferences, etc.
2. Chrome
3. Skype, GChat, etc.
4. Safari

Normally it works fine, switching to the right goes to the next one. When I quit out of any application, however, the order switches and space 3 moves to the left of space 2 so the order is now 1>3>2>4. I know it's not a huge deal but how do I fix this?

On another note, how long is the battery life on a 15 inch i7 2.0 gHz Macbook Pro? Mine seems to last for only 2 hours even with only 3 applications open.

Make certain the option to reorder desktops based on recent use is unchecked in the Mission Control preferences.

For the battery issue, you could try an SMC reset and see if that helps. It has helped for some.
