sry mods for the bump, but i posted this last night at like 2 in the morning because i was sick of searching, i have been looking for something for a few weeks now.

i really only have you guys for help. every store i have been to doesn't know anything and has nothing.
best buy, office max, staples, fry's

some have wall mounts but no one has desk mounts (or they are really bad)

I've got an Ergotron like this one:

http://www.buy.com/prod/ergotron-lx...desk-mount-arm-20-lb/q/loc/111/201981104.html

I've really been pleased with mine.

(I've also got a second arm that you can mount a second monitor or a laptop on that I'm no longer using. If you go with one of these I'd be willing to sell you my second arm, if you have a use for it, at a good price...someone might as well get some good use out of it.)

The Buy.com price is more than your budget but it has free shipping...again, I've really been pleased with mine. I only have one monitor mounted on it now next to a 30" on a stand (too heavy to mount the 30" along with the 22").
I used the dual arms to hold my MBP and my 22" monitor until I got a Mac Pro and the second 30" monitor.

I don't know how much...but I'd make it a very good deal for you compared to the cost of a dual arm Ergotron...I've got the black one and the extra arm I've got has mounts for both monitor and the notebook platform...PM me and I'll check out prices when I'm off work and figure out a good price for you.

In the event you don't mind something with somewhat less vertical flexibility, this is an alternate-styled option close to your price range:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008ELL4

We have a couple of these at work, and they are VERY beefy, look good (in my opinion they're more attractive than the more articulated ones, though that's a matter of taste), feel good, and they have a little cable-routing cover to keep things clean. Based on my experience, it'd be high on my list were I shopping for one at home.

(Oh, I should add that the only bad review on Amazon is from a guy complaining that the tilt joint is too loose and can't be adjusted; this is wrong--all the joints have pop-off plastic caps with adjustable lock nuts underneath, including that one. I even double checked.)
