My understanding is that Desktop Publisher Pro sucks--a lot. To the OP, you need to define your needs. It may well be that Pages is overkill. Practically any app which can place text and graphics on the same page can do a passable job of "desktop publishing." Even the full-blown professional DTP apps have their strengths and weaknesses. Are you publishing an encyclopedia, a catalog, a novel, a magazine, a flyer, a CD cover, what?
