hi. i've had a mac for over a year and something really messed up just happened.. i just turned on my computer and my desktop was resetted.. and i can't find any of the folders in the desktop and my dock has been resetted and my browser bookmarks are gone and all of the other program settings have been gone.. any ideas how to fix this? thanks

That usually means that you (possibly accidentally) renamed your home folder. If that's what happened, it should be fairly easy to fix.
