Desktop \ Screensaver Crashes

I know this was mentioned in a previous thread but I'm working on a 10.5.6 OS after the iLife media update and I am still having this pane crash when opened.

I followed the previous threads advice of deleting my com.apple.screensaver.XXXXXXXX.plist file but it's still crashing and can I replace this file - if so, how?
