Hi guys! First post! Ever!

Anyway. I updated to 10.5.8 last night and booted up this morning to find it had overridden my desktop image with the default space pic. Fair enough. So I go and change it back, and it confirms that yes, the image has been changed to (original desktop picture).jpg. However I flick back to the desktop and no, it hasn't.

Whats more is it's removed all desktop items. And won't give them back.

It's probably something very simple I've forgotten about, but it is something quirky and annoying that I'm not used to from apple. Any ideas how to fix it?

Cheers,
Jourdan

Yep, everything is still there. I can access them fine... just not on the desktop. It feels almost as if there is a false desktop in the way or something, because OSX doesn't believe anything is wrong. It says I have a different desktop image and as far as I know, there isn't a 'hide desktop items' option.
