When I look at all of the Desktops for the month, I always see these sweet Desktop widget-looking things. Calenders, weather, iTunes CD cases, etc.

Most likely they are just regular dashboard widgets. They just have a function called Developer Mode turned on so they can be moved to the desktop. The easiest way I found to turn it on is using a widget called DevMode Widget.
