I was importing a cd into my itunes. When I was done the cd would not eject.
I have been trouble shooting for hours and have done the following....
Eject button on keyboard
Eject Button in itunes
drag disk to trash
start computer and hold mouse down.
I have also gone in disk utilities.

I am beyond angry at this point. Can anyone please help me get this disk out?

Have you tried terminal?

Using the Terminal There are two commands that can be used in the Terminal (located in Applications/Utilities) which can be used to force disk ejection:
The first command to try is drutil tray eject. Simply type in this command and press return.
The other method takes a little more work but can work in instances where the first method fails.
Type the command drutil list into the Terminal and press return . This will provide a list of all currently connected removable devices. [ScreenShot 1-DiskEject] -- connect FireWire/USB drives for this
Use the command drutil tray eject 1
In the above command, the number "1" should be replaced with whatever drive number you obtained in the first step.

I am in terminal now and it is not working. It don't see the cd ion the list. Here is what I am typing.

-bash: dritil: command not found
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ drutil list

1 MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846 FB2U ATAPI Apple Shipping

Macintosh:~ Crystal$ drutil list

Macintosh:~ Crystal$ drutil tray eject
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ drutil tray eject 1
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ drutil list
Vendor Product Rev Bus SupportLevel
1 MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846 FB2U ATAPI Apple Shipping

Macintosh:~ Crystal$ 1-disk eject
-bash: 1-disk: command not found
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ 1 disk eject
-bash: 1: command not found
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ screenshot 1-diskeject
-bash: screenshot: command not found
Macintosh:~ Crystal$ screenshot 1-diskeject

Reset SMC and PRAM. It could very likely be a hardware issue though, at this point.

What type of machine is this?

How do you do that?

Here is my mac info

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

The cd is not coming out still. It just restarts itunes. Taking it to the genius bar in the am. Honestly it is bull ****. I see from my google search that this is a common problem, so why does Apple not fix it?????? Thanks for the help. Hopefully Apple takes care of this.

Slot drives work on very tight tolerances, and occasionally fail.

It may be that many people are temporarily unable to get the drive to eject due to a software problem, but a genuinely defective drive is rare unless it has been damaged due to improper disks being inserted.
