is there a website that tells you the history of your apple computer? details such as manufactured date and who it was registered to first and if its been to service, etc.

i tried that support section of the www.apple.com/support page but it only gives when it was registered. i need more info cause my computer is used and i dont have a receipt and i need to know when it was manufactured because if i purchase apple care it will start from there - not from date registered.

if you call apple directly maybe they can help more. as far as like a carfax for apple computers... never heard of one.

quick/easy method, if you've never re-installed the OS, is to get info on your boot drive, and see what day it was created...

but yeah, contact apple.

i've definately reinstalled os x because it was used....

Not quite the same thing, but if you want some info (e.g., system specs) on your, or any, Mac- then try using Mactracker, it is a great app.
