Hello all,

I was hoping you might be able to help. I am a Lightroom user on OS X Mavericks and yesterday encountered an error with my LR Catalog which forced LR to quit. On attempting to reopen the programme I was met with a dialog telling me that my LR catalog was corrupted and that it needed to be repaired.

This process initially failed, but I have retried the process (after copying the catalog to another disk - I believe the error was initially caused by limited space on my boot SSD) and the repair seems to be ongoing.

The problem is this, the repair has been occurring for 7 hrs now and hasn't completed, however I can't determine whether anything is actually occurring. Activity Monitor is showing limited CPU usage (1-2%) but it is not showing any recent hangs and has not marked Lightroom as 'Not Responding'. Additionally my Drobo, which is where the catalog is currently located, is showing (via the Drobo Dashboard app) a slow but consistent reduction in free space. Approximately a gig of space has been used up since the process has begun.

Is there anything else I can do to determine whether or not the repair catalog process is actually occurring or whether it has simply crapped out? I have experience extremely long waits while doing scheduled catalog backups in the past (over-night is generally required) so I'm fairly used to seeing LR chug through scenarios such as this, but given the extra worry associated with this situation, I'd be grateful to know if there is anything further I can do to figure out whether giving it more time is worthwhile or not.

I am a professional photographer, so have backups of my LR Catalog, but only weekly backups, so I was hoping to fix the issue somehow as otherwise I will have to restart my most recent wedding edit!

Many thanks all.
