Is anyone else able to print from *any* document or program via air print?

I get an error, I've googled and tried everything. It's borked.

We were warned in the seed note that printing may not be possible in this beta:

I always read the seed note before installing a beta.

I’m not too worried about it because I have another mac which has high sierra and so if I have to print I will use that mac instead.

Alternatively if you don't have another mac you can create a high sierra volume on the same mac that has mojave and boot to that volume instead if you need to print.

No, I couldn't get my Canon printer to work with either Airplay or via the USB cable after updating to macOS Mojave Beta 6. Crazy!

As a heterosexual male born in the 70s, I can't bother to read the directions. LOL

Printing works just fine for me in Dev Beta 6 (my printer was set up in earlier betas). It is using AirPrint.

I didn’t realize it was possible to AirPrint from a MacOS device. I can AirPrint to my printer from iOS 12, but cannot print (wirelessly) from any of my MacOS devices running the Mojave betas.

When it comes to MacOS, I think "Airprint" is the name they use for printing over wifi to your wifi connected printer on your home network.

There seems to be a protocol called "AirPrint" and "Secure AirPrint" implemented in MacOS. If supported by the printer, it will automatically connect and configure everything.

When I add my printer in the Printers & Scanners panel, MacOS automatically detects my printer in the network and offers the "Secure AirPrint" protocol as default (I can select "AirPrint" and the printer's own driver as well - when I select the printer's own driver, the layout of the printing panel is different, so these seem to be separate printing protocols/drivers). Even though my printer is connected using "AirPrint", both my computer and my printer are actually wired to the network.

I have a Kyocera Ecosys multifunction printer, when I use AirPrint, not only the printer part is detected, but a "Scan" panel is also added (complete with a built in native scanner tool), and the printer is detected as a Fax machine under "Faxes" (the printer panel has a fax queue as well). Also, the printer's actual image is shown by MacOS. Kinda cool.

I to have the same issue. Lost my Brother MFC-L8610DWC Printer with PB6. Worked fine on PB5. Reported it. Still can print from my iPad.

Looks like certain printers are hosed and some are not in this build. Both my HP Multifunction Printers do not work via AirPrint (yes, standard Wireless) but printing from my iPhone on iOS 12 Beta 5 works fine lol.. silly Apple.

1+ cant print MacOS Mojave beta 6
Unable startup session, error = -10, x page

Just like many of us on Mojave beta. The most recent beta release had comments to that effect in the release notes.

Yes. We know. No one reads those anyway. I posted in hopes someone found a workaround or fix.

Thanks.

same error mess here. sigh.
[doublepost=1533772514][/doublepost]OK i think ihave found a workaround. for whatever reason even though I have just updated my iphone too this seems to work form the iphone

I have a canon mx922 w/ wifi

any prog ( bean, text edit , pages ) in mojave on my macbook pro didn't work .

got error message error = 10, 1 page

I put the text doc in pages then added to my icloud drive.

looked up doc on my iphone 6s and opened in pages on i-phone 6s

select ( three dots) logo in top right of iphone screen

this will open "more" menu. 4th down is print icon

press print icon

see printer options menu

select printer. canon mx920 series

hot print button in top right next to printer options. shazaaaa

My wifi connected printer also did not work in Mojave dev beta 6 , the same "Unable startup session, error = -10" error ... Hopefully the next beta will fix this issue.

Reported this bug to Apple yesterday morning - no response to date. No great sense of urgency that we cannot print at all on Mojave apparent. Luckily I have my old Mac Mini media server still on High Sierra so can print via that by sending a print PDF via Airdrop.

There's little to gain from reporting issues that are already known by Apple and listed in the seed/release notes for the beta. I suppose it could help them understand the printers and type of printing affected, but I doubt you'll get a reply.

I have an Epson Artisan 837 and I cannot connect to it via print. The printer webpage works fine but cannot print to it. My HP1606dn works fine with no problems at all, it's hard wired ethernet. My wife can print to the Epson as it's networked via ethernet cable she is running Sierra. I'm running Mojave PB5.

Adding a seed note that "users may not be able to print" seems particularly crass. Why not just say "don't install this beta - it doesn't work." Printing is pretty central to a computer's usage.

Not to me. I don't know whether I can print or not as it's something I do quite rarely. Surely it's better for you to see what doesn't work and decide yourself? Assuming you read the seed notes you decided that printing wasn't a bit deal to you. Assuming you didn't read the seed notes even if it said "DO NOT USE" in big letters you wouldn't have read it :)

I do read the seed notes. "May not print" seemed a rather nebulous warning, when from the explosion of ire on the internet today, it is looking like it should have read "it is highly likely you will not be able to print" In which case, should it have been released at all. My view is that it should not have been. I have tried via ethernet and USB and to HP printers they all seem to be broken

Cant print from mail, print to PDF also generated a blank page. However printing from Notes works. As a beta, it doesn't surprise or worry me. It is rare that I print anyway. It will get fixed by release.
