I doubt it, by not supporting multiple screens and letting other people do it they will:
1) not have to pay for development
2) not have to worry about its quality, as in you'd be mad at apple if it was by them, but not at this solo developer if it isn't up to par
3) make 30% of what ever the app will sell for
You install it via side loading or through Xcode. It’s not going on the App Store. Apple will indeed shut it down for its usefulness. Only reminder app and calendar clones, or kicking a virtual beach ball around the room type of apps are allowed.
I don't think Apple will shut it down, but many users will probably not want to use it -- due to the bandwidth requirements. A 4K monitor uses a lot of data, and Apple is supposedly using Apple Silicon enhancements in Sonoma to improve high-speed performance. My guess is that one of the reasons for Apple supporting only one monitor is that multi-monitor use can melt down into a laggy mess. That's not an experience Apple wants to be publicized.
