Developer help needed: Wrapping ffmpeg

I'm writing an app now that needs to convert .movs into xvid mp4s. To do this, I would like to employ the power of ffmpeg, but am having problems finding out how I could install it on the users machine, and wrap it all up. Can anyone help with this issue?

Have you read Apple's developer notes on Wrapping Unix Command Line Tools? I've never written any GUI applications before and I was able to create one using AppleScript Studio in a couple hours.

Well, ffmpegX already exists; Google it.

Handbrake does this (to rip DVDs) and the source is available.
