I am considering upgrading from iPad 4 to the newest generation model. But I would like to avoid the most annoying stuff that I experienced with the iPad 4 during use. When I purchased it it came with iOS6, the next day I upgraded it to the highest available version 7.0. With 7.0 it worked nice, but from 8.0 and on it became really annoying: started lagging when scrolling screen or page and during typing. And the other annyoing thing that was present from the beginning until the latest iOS available for me: the text selection has been terrible. It was the worst and most difficult amonng any devices I had in the past 10 years. Compared to my Blackberry, for example, where the selection is so fast, accurate, and scrolling during selection is not a problem either.

Are these problems still present recently, or with the latest OS I don't need to expect these flaws?
