For starters my network is password protected. I just added two iHome Smart Plugs into the iHome app on my iPhone 6 and both devices never required my network password to join the network. That doesn't sound right. When I did the exact same thing on an android tablet I was asked for my network password as expected. Any idea why the iPhone didn't request my password? Should that worry me? I'm running ios 10.2

If your devices are synced with one iCloud account and you have Keychain sync enabled, it will remember all your wifi passwords across all your devices. So if you added a password protected network on your iPhone your Mac will connect to it automatically.

Your Android tablet doesn't do this because it can't sync to Keychain. Nothing to worry about in terms of security.
