A forumer has kindly recommended both of these as good for organising research for a research degree.

What are peoples thoughts about these.

Any experiences , tips or advice?

What is a good scanner to use with these so that some documents can be entered into them? Many thanks :)

I am very happy with DEVONThink. It's an amazing document based database. I recommend the Pro Office variant with the integrated OCR. I'm very happy with my ScanSnap S300M and how it integrates seamlessly with DT. There is also some integration between DEVONThink and Sente making it easy to import citation information.

I bought the InfoWorker Pro Bundle with DEVONAgent.

Make sure you get the Academic Discount. I believe it is 25%
.

What is the infoworker pro bundle with devonagent? What does it do? Is included I the office pro

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply :)

You can use sente academic on 3 macs. How many can use devonthink office pro / devenagent on? :)

Does anyone know of any decent flat bed scanners that work well with devonthink. I am thinking of how to scan books etc as the s300m won't do this I don't think :)

So should I get sente and devonthink?:)

There is no question in my mind that DEVONthink is one of the most valuable apps that I have ever purchased. I wish I had it when I was a student (of course even a computer would have been a big step).

I got Sente on the basis of recommendations on the DEVONthink forum. You might look through the forum for different points of view. DEOVNthink is configured to work with Sente, Endnote, and Bookends. I have only used Sente (and not that extensively).

thank you steveoc, what is your opinion on sente? worth the money? useful? :)

Many thanks for taking the time to reply, it is much appreciated.
