Well today my iPhone 4's power/lock button gave in. Which is fine as i can take it to apple. But as its jailbroken, so i need to clear the phone just incase they check.

But how can i do this if i cant use the lock button? Is there a work around?

Thanks

Why do you need the lock button (you mean power?) to restore to stock?

Without the Power button you cannot enter DFU, however a restore from recovery mode should do the trick for you.

Sorry I was under the impression that you had to put it in DFU mode to clear all trace of the jailbreak. Yea I can restore as a new phone.
Thanks will do that tonight. Gonna miss the tweaks for 12 hours.

Did you install TinyUmbrella in your computer, or have your hosts file points to the Cydia installed of Apple? If so, make sure you change that back before the restore. Otherwise, it won't update the modem baseband, and they can tell it's jailbroken.

I havent done any of that. Do I need to do this then?
Do i need to do more than just restore as new?
