iPod touch Dfu Mode Gets Into 'ipod Cannot Be Identified'

When I follow the instructions to get into DFU mode, all i get is that the Ipod was detected but could not be identified.

I tried to Jailbreak 2.2 but you need to get into DFU to do this and when I did the Ipod couldn't be detected.

Please help!

Which form of jailbreak are you using? The QuickPwn would be the best... it tells you step by step and for how long to hold what down for.
