Hello all, first time poster but the search function assures me this is a common enough problem so I am hoping someone can help :)
System Info:
Mac OS X
10.5.8
Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz

I completed the digital download from blizzard, I enter the 24 digit key from their website into my installer. It accepts said key and asks me if applications - Diablo 2 is ok, I click install and than I receive this error.

The file "/Users/USERNAME/Desktop/Diablo II.temp" could not be created. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (InstallerFile::Create)

I have tried repairing my disk drive and I do not have access to the original CD. Thanks in advance for any and all (edit) help

Unsure as to rules on "upping" threads but I can definitely say this was less than once per day. Still working on it if anyone has any suggestions! I am going to attempt Blizzards Mac help phone line today but according to the general help guy they only have like a few people experienced with Macs it so I could be in for a few hours on hold :S

Do you have admin rights on that account?

Not really sure ... I re-installed Diablo II and Starcraft from Blizzard just before Starcraft II arrived and had absolutely no issues. Are there options to not have it create a desktop icon, perhaps?

It might be a permissions issue? Try using Disk Utility to repair your drive's permissions.

Also, if you're familiar with the Terminal, open it and run the command (in your home folder):

Code:
ls -la | grep Desktop

My output was:

Code:
Craig-iMac:~ Craig$ ls -la | grep Desktop
drwx------+ 3 Craig staff 102 Sep 15 10:44 Desktop
Craig-iMac:~ Craig$
