Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about getting an iMac, mainly for office use, but I want to be able to play Diablo 3 and possibly some StarCraft 2 occasionally. I tried searching the forums, but never found a clear answer. My current options, due to my budget, are getting a new 21.5 inch base model with the Iris Pro, or waiting for a refurbished model with the discrete card. If the Iris Pro will run Diablo 3 very well, I'd prefer to go new than refurbished. So, can anyone tell me how Diablo 3 performs on the base model? Anyone with personal experience? Thanks.

While I do not have first hand experience with the 2013 base model, Anand from Anandtech has a great write up: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7399/215inch-imac-late-2013-review-iris-pro-driving-an-accurate-display

I have the Nvidia GeForce GT 750m w/ 1Gb of GDDR% VRAM in my iMac and I must say gaming performance is great. A friend owns the enter level iMac and we have both ran the Dirt 2 demo maxed out. The Iris Pro got 30-35fps maxed out, and the 750m got around 60-75fps. So I'd say go for the 750m if you can.
