I had this old 1,1 Mac Pro lying around and decided I'd try to bring it up.
So far this is what I got:
- Pressing the front panel power button occasionally will turn on the PSU. Sometimes it won't, and the system will just click and flash a red LED only once.
- When it manages to turn on, if I have both RAM Risers plugged in, one of them will alway light up two CPU red LEDs. If I remove one of them (a specific one), I'll get to the next step.
- Without the "bad" riser, system will turn on but not boot up. No picture on display, no Apple sound. Pressing the DIAG_LED button will light up the Trickle Power with a yellow LED, the PWR with a green LED, and the GPU will flash a green LED about once every second. I've tried 2 GPUs and got the same result.
So far this is what I got. What could it be? Bad PSU? Logic board? Both? Any way I can I tell for sure without buying new parts in advance?
