Hi Folks,
OK, so my 4,1 -> 5,1 is being a bit odd with its Wifi & Bluetooth module since I upgraded the CPUs from dual 2.26 quad to dual 3.06 hex.
It's got an AC / BT4LE upgrade, showing up in the respective parts of system profiler as:
en2:
Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x111)
Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.15.166.24.3)
Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes
Handoff Supported: Yes
Instant Hotspot Supported: Yes
Manufacturer: Broadcom
Transport: USB
Chipset: 20702B0
Firmware Version: v106 c8959
System connects to network via ethernet, and uses the built in VPN software, in case that's relevant.
Symptoms were that it would, without warning drop all Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity.
Resetting the Bluetooth subsystem from the debug options in the BT menu did nothing. Wifi in the network prefpane would show as off, and pressing the on button did nothing. Rebooting once would bring BT back, but Wifi would show as "no hardware installed". Rebooting a second time and everything would come back fine.
Pulled the processor tray, unplugged the Wifi/BT module, replugged and since then the BT part of the problem hasn't occurred, but the wifi is still dropping. It usually takes a few days of sleep / wake cycles for the problem to manifest.
Can anyone point me to the most likely places in console to look for an indication of what's going on?
