anyone know wassup with the stacks+backboardd logs that is constantly appear in Diagnostic & Usage?

I'm using the iPhone 6 Plus and there's a bunch showing up.

I hope they fix this bug on the next update!

ugh!

8.0.2 still didnt fix the stacks+backboardd logs

come on apple! jeesuz..

Have not seen stacks+backboardd since installing 8.0.2.

Previously it was appearing on average every 2-3 hours. Its now 10pm on 9/26, and have not seen it since 3am on 9/25.

Fingers and toes crossed!

Still no backboardd errors here, thankfully.

I am getting a few new Jetsam errors everyday though.

Same here I keep getting this and not sure what it is. I'm wondering if this is draining by battery because it has been going down a lot. I'm on 8.0.2. Thinking I should just downgrade maybe?

i updated to 8.1 beta 2 since that is supposed to get rid of those errors. i had a ton of them. i think it was the root cause of my battery drain as well. apple rep said core apps like SMS and Mobile Cal were very active in the background and not stopping the way they were supposed to. i logged out of and back into iCloud to see if it helps and loaded 8.1.

So on your 8.1 beta 2 you no longer get the stacks+backboardd?

Pretty sure backboardd is something to do with the Touch ID sensor as I put my finger on it yesterday and it crashed the phone and the log was backboardd. I used to have stacks+backboardd, but mine stopped a while ago.

I don't think so because I got a ton of stacks+backboardd on my iPad Mini Retina as well. So I don't think it has anything to do with the Touch ID.

So here is an update: I have successfully downgraded back to ios 8.0.0 on my 6 Plus from 8.0.2, and hopefully I won't get that stacks+backboard issue. I will stick with ios 8.0.0 for now and once the iOS 8.1 comes out with no issues, then I'll install 8.1

Backboard is the "Springboard". It's the process that controls your home screen. If you see a lot of entries for stacks+backboard, restart your phone (hold power until you see "Slide to power off")

You shouldn't see so many backboard crashes when ios 8.1 comes out.
