So I had to take my macbook pro into the genius bar recently to replace my battery and they ran diagnostic tools from a nano. Anyone know how to get a hold of these tools or what they are?

I remember wondering this myself. I asked but all the genius would tell me is they used Drive Genius
You can't. It's for Apple internal use only and releasing it would be a violation of their NDA. Not to mention, I'd venture to guess they have no way of copying it so it can be released. If they do have a way, it'd be rather difficult.
