i took my MBP to Peachmac today and they ran some diagnostics software that was on a USB drive. i asked what it was and he would only say it was a program that checked for hardware issues. anyone know what it might be and if it's available for download?

It's called ASD (don't recall what those initials stand for), and no, you can't find it available for download (not through any means I've seen). It's only available to Authorized Service Providers. They would get in pretty big trouble for handing it out (in fact, I could potentially get in trouble for talking about it, though since I don't work for an Apple Store, it's less likely).

yeah i figured it was some "hush hush" software since he didn't want to discuss it at all.
