Hey guys, I'm using a Mid 2015 15" MBP, and I just noticed this starting to happen today. At first I thought it was a glitch with Flickr, but then I started seeing it on other websites too. Upon closer inspection, I also see faint streaks of red and blue in between the green lines.

Now I'm afraid my hardware is starting to crap out or something. Anyone else experienced something similar?

GPU failing?

If there's a brick n mortar Apple Store anywhere close to you, and if it's open, I'd take it to the genius bar and let them have a look at it.

Save a few of these images elsewhere (phone, etc.) to show them if you can't reproduce it at the store.

I see this kind of thing just now and again on my 2012 rMBP since I installed Big Sur (unsupported machine).
But I don't see it in Catalina on the same machine.
Did you upgrade to Big Sur?

Yes I'm on 11.1.

Thinking I might just have to take it to the genius bar, hopefully it's nothing serious.

I am getting exactly the same when browsing on the web... usually it is just on thumbnails but occasionally full photos too. This is a screen clip from BBC News on Safari.

I am running 11.2.1 and only upgraded recently. Hadn't seen it before.

Just to note, it seems like this issue only happens in Safari. It doesn't happen in Chrome, and it doesn't happen in other photo viewing/editing apps (native photos app, capture one pro, photoshop, preview).

Safari has also been giving me other graphical glitches for months now, like this (literally just now opened another macrumors tab and snapped these snaps) - attached.

Again, those other types of graphical glitches also only happen in Safari, not Chrome or in any other app on my computer.

So it seems like it's just Safari glitching out, rather than the hardware.

OP:

You might try downloading "Safari Technology Preview" (kind of a beta of the next version of Safari to be released), and see if the problems reproduce there.

It will hurt nothing else to try this.
