I want to automate the process of calling a number and then hanging up with my Mac. Everything already works, I just want to make it so it can run on it's own (through the night). I've created a connection in network preferences with the telephone number. When I dial the number, the phone rings, so it's all working.

I've been trying to use automator to "watch me" create an action, but apparently this part of automator is quite buggy. After I create the action and start it, it just crashes the computer.

Is there any way of doing this with a simple AppleScript? Such as, dial this connection, hang up after 30 seconds. And then using Automator to repeat the script?

If I'm going in completely the wrong direction, feel free to point me in the right direction.
