Dictation Feature on Macbook Air

Hello Helpful People
Anyone able to advise on how I use Dictation, please?
I have activated in System Pref, I've pressed fn button twice and the mic is showing, the sound meter shows it's 'hearing' what I say, but nothing appears on the page.

I'm stuck.
