Same here. I tried turning it on and off to no avail.. The original online dictation works though.
Nothing in the release notes about it. I guess it's time to file a bug report.

Turn off enhanced dictation and it works
I turned off the enhanced dictation and it works like it use to with it sending the dictation to Apple for translation. So at least we got that back and working again. I did really like the enhanced dictation however. Hope they fix that in the next release!

Yup normal dictation works fine, but enhanced dictation just sits there and does nothing.
Just saw a short video clip of a guy running Mavericks, and it looks like he used Dictation but he was using it like Siri and asking what day it was and also asked it to open Safari, is this a part of Mavericks or something else ?
