For my wife the best feature on her iPad was the ability to dictate when writing e-mails as she has never learnt to type.

For some reason this has stopped working recently. iPad 3 on iOS 7.1.2.
The microphone symbol is on the keyboard and when she touches it the recording waveform appears at the bottom, she presses Done and the progress circling arrow appears in the mail message, but after a short while it disappears and no text is written.

Any ideas please?
I have hunted all through settings and can find no obvious answer.

I should have said, this feature works fine on her iPhone so not related to our broadband AFAIK.

I finally remembered that the one thing I had not tried was a reset. This has solved the problem.

I should have tried that first.
