Dictation now failing 50% of time

I have a good Internet connection at home but dictation is now failing at least 50% of the time. I used to use it a lot in ios5 but now in ios6 it is unreliable and thus useless.

I just get the purple dots for a while and nothing comes up. Sometimes mail will crash, losing any message I have half written.

Anyone finding this? Any suggestions?
