Hi,

I am having problems using (it is probably already there) a language dictionary with Word for Mac 2008.

My iMac OS Lion is French with an AZERTY keyboard. No problem as I am fluent and live in France.

Each program calls their dictionaries by different names which is strange.

I can switch spelling languages whilst in Mozilla Thunderbird because they use their own dictionaries yet in this Mozilla Firefox text box it checks in "English / United Kingdom" and if I want to change to say "French" I am redirected to Mozilla's "Get a dictionary page" even though it is loaded in Thunderbird.

In Text Edit I can switch to "British English", "US English" or "Français"

In Libre Office I can also switch to "English (UK)" and "French (France)"

HOWEVER in Word for Mac 2008 if I go to Spelling/Options/Dictionaries and select "Anglais (G.B)" it shows as "Anglais (E.U.)" which is another dictionary (what the difference is between those two I have no idea!!). If I wish to spell check in French it will not, even if I go to Spelling/Options/Dictionaries and select "Français" it still shows as "Anglais (E.U.)"

It is possibly I should be asking in a Word for Mac forum but if anyone can solve this for me I'd be extremely grateful.
