I always thought it was weird that turning off Location Services added a lot to battery life. It seemed to me like it should have only been used when Maps or some other app needed to use it, and otherwise it shouldn't have made a difference whether it was set to on or off, since it wouldn't be in use. So I just figured some part of the OS kept it running constantly if it was set to on, rather than just when it was needed.

My question is, does anyone know if this was fixed in the 3.0 software?
