iOS used to make a lock sound when you unlock the phone, in the latest beta, the sound is gone. It still makes the same sound when you lock the phone but not when you unlock anymore. Anyone else?

Yes. I've seen ten posts about it in the last fifteen minutes alone.

Although, I may be exaggerating. I've done that millions of times before.

Yeah, maybe it's just me, but I hated it, good riddance:D

On a side note I even turned off the lock sounds which you can now do in settings, not sure if you could before.

You've always been able to turn them off!

Is there any way to turn off the docking/charging chime/vibration? I don't think there's ever been a setting for it.

Yes, and I can't stand that it's gone. It was always my first indication of knowing whether my phone was on silent or not. Now it feels like it's on silent when I unlock it, even though it's not.

Very unhappy about this random change

Jesus! Calm down!

It's a beta and may well be just a bug that could be fixed in a future release.

People moan about the slightest little thing!

The guy has a point mate - it was very helpful in telling the user if their phone is in silent mode or not; which is awesome if you're at university or going to a meeting. It's one of those things that we don't realise we rely on 'till their gone :(

OK, said I wasn't sure, interesting it was always there, and well, it was only just noticing the unlock sound being gone that made me look in sound settings, hardly ever look in sound settings.

I would of thought the silent switch was the first place to look. It is for me.

What I mean is that this is a beta and people go nuts when things don't work. Thats what happens when you beta test!

I submitted a bug report via the dev site. I really hope that's a bug and not a change. Especially considering the option in Settings app still says "Lock Sounds" (plural).

Holy crap, this is a beta?!?

Omg, I had no idea! Thanks for the info

How many more posts/threads about this are we gonna see until beta 6? Lol

I'm guessing quite a few, since it's one of the first things people will notice. I hope everyone reports it so it gets fixed sooner rather than later :D

Maybe they could change the sound to something less literal. I always liked the little tick on my first iPod touch.

I would like to be able to choose a sound, just like almost everything else that makes a sound in iOS.
