Got it this morning, just wondering if anyone else received it and if it's legit.

I haven't submitted a claim, but the first thing I noticed is that the landing page is broken.

However, going to the home page of Applewarrantysettlement.com links to this page, where it looks like you can file your claim:

https://eclaim.kccllc.net/CAClaimForms/AIW/Home.aspx

I'm just worried that this might be a scam to harvest serial numbers, so when the real settlement site goes live, they can claim your settlement.

Sounds like any other scam email. What's the question? Regardless of the answer to all these emails is to avoid them.

I have not received that email. I would say if you have a claim, do it directly through Apple's site. This way you know the info is going to the right place. Even when I get a legit email, I go directly to the companies site and take care of things there. If the email is legit, you should be able to get to it directly from the companies site. That way you have confirmation it is legit.

Did the other settlement claims, like the iPod Nano 1st Gen replacement show up on Apple's website? Every class action claim I've ever been involved in was through a 3rd party website.

Why in gods name would you have clicked either of those links?

Because clicking on a link to a website is not enough to harm your computer. It's things you click on afterwards that cause problems.

At any rate, this seems legit: http://9to5mac.com/2013/08/04/poten...damage-class-action-suit-now-being-contacted/

After doing some research, it looks like the links you posted in your original post are legit. If you have to file a compensation claim, then that is the site you would deal with.
