Last year I had an issue with the iPhone upgrade program so I couldn't preorder online and had to wait in line at about 6am on launch day to get my 11 Pro Max. Did anyone go this year? How did they handle lines and what was the process like? I'm trying to see if this is feasible for me when the 12 Pro Max launches. Thank you for any insight!

Depends, you may want to check some stores in your area. Apple store near me is reopening tomorrow and got the glance to see the store today as I was driving by. the set up they have is like a check in window like at the banks. Also they are now doing express pick up only. They aren’t doing shop with specialist yet. Since Apple store was closed during the 12 and 12 pro in. Yo area I’m. It sure what they will do. For sure they will not do walk ins.

I went this year for the 12 Pro on launch morning since I forgot to preorder. I called the Store the day before; they let me know they may have some extra stock if I got there early. The store opened at 8AM, i got there at 8:15, there was maybe 4 other people waiting, and they told me which stock they had (ended up getting a 512GB space gray), but the only caveat was that I couldn’t get it right that second, they made me book an appointment for later that day to pick it up. So, had to come back again, but I did get it!

Kinda want a bigger phone, so will try to do a preorder on Friday for the 12 pro max and return the 12 pro. Also, this was in Massachusetts, so the Stores are generally open, may be different in your area.
