I was looking through Apple's website to check the ship dates, looks like you can still get an iPhone 14 on launch day as of today... since the Pro model gets all the spotlight this year, was wondering if anyone has ordered the iPhone 14?? The Plus will probably be popular due to size and price.

Sticking with my 13PM, but T-Mobile sent an email today to check out the 14PM. Pro Max still had a lot available to ship on time, even the deep purple....I'm kinda surprised.

Maybe you should’ve made this a poll. I went with the 14 PM and my brother got the regular 13. The 14 just didn’t seem like a good buy with the 13 being $100 less.

Was about to post a thread like this luckily the suggestions showed me that one exists.

Did anyone at MR buy the standard 14s or everyone waiting for 14 Plus!? Lol
It seems 99% of iPhone 14 threads here about the Pros.🤭

I can't imagine many people rushing out the buy the 14, the upgrade is far too incremental to attract a lot of yearly upgraders.

I'm sure some 12 owners will buy them and the plus may sell some to people who want a cheaper plus size phone but if you're on a budget then the smart money is on the 13 which is still on sale...

Indeed, makes sense. I guess we will see more enthusiasts either getting a 14 Plus as you say many may want a lighter large iPhone and I think once some peeps around here get fed up with Pro Max size and weight we will see a gradual adoption of 14 Plus.
While the standard 14 is probably going to be bought by mostly “non-enthusiasts” or the “average users” if you will, who are just simply looking for an upgrade from their standard 12 (possibly from 11, Xs and X to).

Well on the usual store website I look at, not Apples, but John Lewis in the U.K., the most popular iPhone is the iPhone 13 and the second most popular is the standard iPhone 14, so outside of Apples website people are buying it yes. The 14 Pro is actually a few spots below then. Remember outside the US the iPhone 14 prices have increased significantly and that will impact the Pro model sales. I think it may just be worth waiting for the iPhone 15 as it will have USB C, and Dynamic Island according to reliable leakers and analysts.

Neither of the 14 models are a great buy especially when you consider the extra $30 upcharge if you are buying an unlocked version. The small difference in cost makes the Pro models a much better deal overall.

I got my family all iPhone 14 base models (3x). They are upgrading from iPhone 11s so pretty big upgrade in my opinion.

Plus with trade in at T-Mobile, we got those 14s for free with 24 month bill credits. Not planning on ever switching from t-mobile so it’s was literally a free upgrade (switching to a different carrier would add hundreds a month compared to our current plan)

Happy for them. I’m personally waiting out my 13 PM for the 15PM

Obviously probably not a great idea to upgrade to the 14 from the 13 or 12. But these guys make a pretty good case for spending the extra money on the 14 if you're coming from an old phone.

My husband is getting a red 14 plus soon(it has to be red, to match the spider-man case he also wants lol), he has a 13p now but wants something bigger. He is very much an "average user", he's never used any of the pro features so a 14pm would be a waste. The 14 plus is perfect for him, plus my mom who desperately needs a new phone but refuses to spend money will inherit his 13p.

iPhone 14 is a phone that shouldn't exist.

Apple should have just lowered the price of 13 PRo and Pro Max and call it a day. That way you get the 14 but with 120Hz screen and a tele cam.

I have no interest in the heft of the pro and pro max. I love my 12 mini, and could consider the 14. Actually sort of intrigued by the plus, as it weighs basically the same as the as the pro, but in the bigger size it will feel lighter due to the different weight distribution.

Same - coming from 12Pro which is way above what I need for daily use.

iPhone 14 Plus is now processing - finally some movement!

i got the 14--upgrading from a 12 mini. I actually went with the Pro at first, but exchanged it for the 14 because it felt very uncomfortable to hold for any length of time. I'll miss the Pro cameras but that's the only feature of the Pros that I really care about. Dynamic Island actually felt like a downgrade in terms of usability--it means you actually get less usable screen space than with the regular iphone. I turned off AOD after a day--I have a watch, and I can just tap the phone screen to wake it up anyways, so also not a very useful feature. I never notice the screen refresh rate difference--the 14 feels very smooth to me. So coming from a mini the 14 was the better compromise for me between size/weight, battery life and screen size. The day Apple comes out with a super light Pro I'm gonna be the first in line but until then I'll probably have to stick with the base iphone.

I didn't really think about getting the 13, though--I haven't really looked into the differences, if any, between the 13 and the 14.
