first, i know its the iPad subforum but for people who got 6/6s (not plus because if you go from that to 4" you just dont necessarily know what you want and thats ok too but not one of those 'slap in the face moves') wanted 4" screen, are now going to get an iphone 5se that always wanted it, probably off setting most of the cost with the phone they flip but i digress,
it seems odd given the strategy was apple rewards the bigger phones and tablets with better specs: plus has OIS camera, better battery, 1080p screne, at the cost of pocketability and wielding in the hand. pro has a9x/4gb, air2 does not what was offered at the time.
if you wanted OIS/battery/resolution and small form, you were SOL. still are, except boy does 5se pack some battery punch with a9 efficiencies,
same with ipad, if you wanted a9x and not the year priors a8x, you had to go pro. most people decided to wait who were in that predicament demanding smaller size but
it seems odd that for iPad pro people of the 12.9" variety, no upgraded camera/flash, first gen touch ID (dunno if 9.7Pro is gen 2 touch id or not but), but wanted pen/a9x/4gb (assuming 9.7pro has 4gb as well) and all that, can now 4 months later get the same thing in smaller form.
people getting pro9.7 are talking about how they'll make it flush eventually, and 5se pulls it off but bigger body,
anyways lots of rambling, what i mean to say is that it seems like the slow upgrade cycle of iPads for most people is slower than the phone, some by a long shot, and to pull these obvious planned obsolescence moves makes me want to sort of stay put
im jailbreak contingent anyways, on 9.0.2 but got my air2 64 for 399 back in september i do believe
loving it still,
but i dunno just some thoughts
For whats it worth, i knew what i was getting into buying air2 mid cycle (and like the upgrades to the pro 9.7 but not sure if its worth the trade up, im sure ill take a look but dont use the tablet alot and its not lack of a9x holding me back), and love my 6s plus and am not in the market for a 5se, so i fall outside of what i project others may feel who are in the above situations
