I don't think we saw 100 features today... what else could be in there that they didn't talk about? I can't wait to see the screenshot leaks from developers... someone's gonna do it.

In the photo I see 26 listed, and I don't even think they talked about all 26 of those today.

I think they also talked about things that weren't on the list, though. Add everything together and we've probably heard about less than half of them so far.

...there's 5 right there :p

You're right though, there's more that they haven't talked about. I guess we will hear soon enough from the lucky few who have the beta.

During the Q&A portion they mentioned there would be built in support for tethering, they didn't mention that at all during the actual presentation. Where did you get 100 features at? Did they say there would be 100 new features in 3.0?

Yeah, it points it out on www.apple.com

Right from apples site:
Advance preview of 100 new features.
For iPhone owners, it just keeps getting better. When iPhone OS 3.0 arrives this summer, it will introduce over 100 new features, including the ability to

Yes there will be some gems in there as well as small things the majority of us will never notice outright (but still benifit from).

I'm sure they are going to hold out on some stuff until June when they reveal a new iPhone with Jobs.

I sure hope not, there are still quite a few things missing as I have written in the other thread. But the things I am most anxious for are playlists as alarms, folders on the homescreen and all mail messages + spotlight content search.

Thanks for pointing that out, I wonder if what they previewed today were the major features and the rest are minor or if there are some more major features that will show up this summer

I'm starting to think with all these new features... there's bound to be a bunch of problems with 3.0 and it won't be completely fast and stable until 3 months before 4.0.

I wonder how the performance of the phone will be with this new firmware... I hope they optimized, optimized and optimized some more!

Thats exactly why it goes out for beta testing today.....

iPhone is set to compete with the Blackberries after the 3.0 update comes and some free push email support.

Pretty easy to get to 100.

1. Read a mail message in landscape
2. Compose a mail message in landscape.
3. Read an SMS message in landscape.
4. Send an SMS message in landscape.
;)

where did they say its 100?

Erm, there are 18 posts before you, two of which answer this specific question. I know people complain about reading pages and pages of posts, but has it come to being that lazy?

Still no full list from Apple. Maybe one of them is something like a new color for the + sign on the calculator app. :p
