The width and height are reduced due to smaller bezels than the 11 and XR.
The bezels are now reduced to the same as the previous OLED models such as the XS and 11 Pro as far as I’m aware
The bezels on the iPhone 12 series are now thinner than the XS or 11 Pro.
Really? The bezels on the iPhone 12 series are now thinner than the XS or 11 Pro.
Screen size width stays exactly the same as last years 11 right?
iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 have exactly the same display width per Apple specs. The width of the active display area is 64.58mm.
The difference in body width is due to the flat edges of the iPhone 12.
Wow very nice!!! Was concerned they were taking away my width screen real estate, that’s a no go. 😂
Dare I say it the iPhone 12 could be as comfortable to hold as the mini, apple really went to town on reducing the thickness of the phone, the bezels, they even managed to make the whole phone smaller. 👌
I loved my 5's edges. So looking forward to having those back.Back to the good old days of the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S. 😁
I know, I have the 11 Pro and am tempted to switch to the 12 now due to the lightness and form factor. I was thinking about 12 mini, but spoiled by the 11 Pro battery life and the 5.8” screen.
So is the 12 pro the same screen size as the Xr ? But bigger than the x and xs ?
It’s not the black bezel that has been reduced, it’s the outer rounded edge that has been flattened.
I stand corrected. The bezels have been reduced significantly on the 12s. The bezels are the same size on the 12 and 12 pros.😜😎
I wonder if they did this because the 12 mini uses the same layout as the 12, so they adjusted the layout to still be usable/big enough on the mini? The 11 and 12/12 Pro are exactly the same screen size, but use different content scaling.
Unfortunately this means that the 12/12 Pro lose the split layout/view that the 11 and Max devices have in some apps (Settings for example).
Here's what they look like in the Xcode Simulator set to 'Physical Size':
iPhone 11 - iPhone 12 Pro - iPhone 11 Pro Max - iPhone 12 Pro Max
