Did Apple slightly improve geofence reminders?

It seems like my "when I get home reminders" don't pop up until I've been in the house for a minute or two instead of when I am down the street from the house. I find this preferable, as I'd sometimes miss them or forget them between the popup and getting inside (after unloading car, being greeted by dogs, etc.)

I haven't fully tested this however.
