They are only selling the remaining 8GB 3G for $99 until they run out of stock, so yes, the 16GB is discontinued.

The answer is: Yes.
While they are clearing out the existing stock of these, availability is limited and certainly not guaranteed.
The others were simply pointing out that you post was misleading.
