I know Catalina had a pretty bad reputation, but with setting up a Big Sur machine for someone, I just find so many things about the UI changes nauseatingly bad to the point where I just don't see myself ever wanting to take that ride, unless they revert a lot of its direction.

So for security updates, for software compatibility for new apps etc, did Catalina ever get its s^&t together as a good daily driver OS?

I really liked it when I was running it with OpenCore, before I upped to Big Sur. 10.15.7 felt just as solid as Mojave. *shrug*
