When I installed 10.11.0 in fall 2015, the installer had changed drastically, displaying a simple Apple logo and the progress bar. There was no way to access the menu bar, no way to access the installer log, and there was no mouse cursor to move. In short, it was dumbed down.

Recently, I had to do an in-place reinstall of 10.11.5 (due to the OS misbehaving), and the installer had the traditional square dialog with the big "X" on it, and the ability to access the menu bar and log, like in Yosemite. (This was after the installer restarted the computer, so it wasn't in the OS environment, if that makes sense.)

Had Apple changed/reverted the 10.11.5 installer to adopt the older behavior, with a proper dialog and menu bar access, instead of the new, dumbed down installer in 10.11.0?

Thanks!
