By Apple phone order, I ordered an SE today to replace my iPhone 4.

I was told they will not go down in price on the 12th. Did I do right, or should I have waited till the 12th? It’s the cheapest device as of today. Anyone heard of any price reductions?

Unlikely to be a price reduction. Certainly not anything significant. I recently bought an SE for my wife. We both love it, it's a really great phone. Enjoy.

You have price protection from Apple or you can return the phone within 14 days
Bingo, thank you. I forgot about their price protection/return policy.

I am glad that it is almost the same size as my iPhone 4. I don't see how folks wag around the huge phones. The 4 slipped into my pant pocket perfectly. PPP, um, interesting.

iPhone 7 should go down in price next week to match the current 6S prices, with 6S being discontinued. I would not expect Apple reducing SE prices, as those are normally refreshed in the spring.

There's not going to be a price reduction to the SE after next week's press event.

If you think that, you are due for disappointment.

Apple their self probably won't discount it, but carriers will

Hell, if you're willing to have a phone locked to AT&T prepaid or some other ****** carrier you can get a brand new SE for $149

It went as low as $129.99 (with Fry's email newsletter coupon). The AT&T Prepaid kit is locked to AT&T but it can be used on both prepaid and postpaid. Verizon prepaid kit, need to pay for one month service then you can transfer it to postpaid.

I’ve already forgotten the name, but there’s this SIM tool that allows you to use a phone on any carrier

Might be worth checking out (Update: found it again, it’s the “Turbo SIM adapter”)

I’d love to see if it works but I don’t have $150 for an experiment

There is also the Neter Air sim but it did not work for my Straight Talk iPhone 6 :(

if you're ok with buying old tech then go with it. getting an se already I assume you are so you're fine. I personally would never buy year old technology but I'm a tech nerd

What is a SIMPLE phone compared to a ATT Pre paid? What is pre paid when buying an iPhone SE?
Think of it as this

BMW car A: brand new and really cheap, can only drive it in your home town

BMW car B: brand new and really “expensive”, but you can drive this anywhere

So you’re getting the same thing, but one has it’s limits for the lower price

Really kind of shocked reading this. While I'm no iPhone guru, I think the SE is quite a marvelous device. The 4, from what I'm reading had an A4 CPU in it with 512MB of RAM. The SE has 2GB and variable sizes from 16GB-128GB. It's a great device. It runs an A9, and works with iOS 11 - soon to be released. I think the SE is a great way to go. At least the device will be supported a while longer.

I’ve been reading up on pre-paid, post-paid, no contract, locked, unlocked. Can it be anymore complex? I bought the SE w 32gb, A9 chip, and 12mpx camera, which is fantastic for my use, and unlocked, no contract which is what I wanted. After paying for the device, all I owe is $35 a month w ATT.

The Best Buy SE is a contract purchase, looks cheap, but it will be paid for one way or another within 2yr contract.

Do I have this correct? There is no way to buy an SE cheap, as one pays full price in a two year contract.

Unlocked you pay full price
Locked you pay carrier price
Contract you pay monthly which can be either the price of the phone more expensive or cheaper

E.g Xfinity wants $33/mo for two years that's about $792 for the iPhone 7 Plus
Cricket I paid $229 for the 64GB version of the SE
